- Floating Mill is a Corp of Engineer (COE) Campground located on Center Hill Lake which is part of the Caney River. It is near Nashville and Cookeville, Tennessee. We stayed here for a week and we give you a review of the campground. We stayed right after a five-day downpour and most of the park was flooded.
This is our first Army Corps of Engineers experience and the "America The Beautiful: pass (access pass or senior pass) got us 50% off camping fees. In fact that pass gives you 50% off in any Army Corps of Engineers Park

Wow glad you got that flooding video that was crazy hope they were able to get it all going again. That was a good rating especially since we would have to entertain oursleves. LoL! Lynn your my hero u had no trouble parking cause your that good!! Can't believe the washer and dryers are free thats fantastic and I thought 30 dollars was great but then 15 for the senior congratulations for getting older Danny!! 😊 we have our America Beautiful pass i need to go see where we can camp. We have never stayed at a corp of engineer campground but i have heard many of them are loved! Once again amazing review your the best!! I must say Great staff will sell many places to me even if a couple categories get a 6!! ❤😊 well done friends!
We had friends that were camping with us, and they were not as happy with it as we were. They thought the sites were much too close. They use the COE parks all the time and love it. The flooding was crazy. It did make for some good fishing. I bait some huge bluegill. We are loving Danny's senior deals. 😁 safe travels.

Great job backing up the camper Lynn, and you guys were parked next to an Airstream!! Most COE parks do not have full hook ups. It's a special treat when you find one that does. You can save a ton of money with these. A ton. We are impressed. I think we will defiantly end up in more. The airstream came the day before we left. Before that there was a tent with 3 little kids. Danny wanted to be sure everyone knew he was not in with the government. Even I laughed when we were filming. Thanks for joining us and safe travels. 😁

Sounds like a great campground even with the flooding. We've never been to a campground where the washers and dryers were free. WOW! Our America the Beautiful Pass paid for itself in the first 6 weeks. We love Core parks. We think of them as hidden gems. Of course, they aren't all created equal, but for the most part, you get a real campground feel. But bath houses are usually my least favorite part of the core parks.
It was pretty good. The bath houses were my least favorite part to. They were clean but old and not temp controlled. We can't wait to find more to stay at. It just dances so much money. Safe travels, friends. 😉
Another great review. We have the lifetime National Parks pass but not because of age. We get it as a veteran.

You need to come to Tioga, Pennsylvania. It has the best Army Corp Campground in the USA. It’s called Ives Run. They have 2 loops of full hookups paved sites, a beautiful lake. It’s only 40 minute to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Also, the famous Pine Creek Bike Path
I will definitely check it out and see if we're going to be anywhere near it. It sounds fabulous and you can't leave the price. Thanks so much for sharing. Safe travels. 😊
Woowee! I saw those flooding photos on facebook while we were in Ohio. I hosted there all last summer and it never flooded like that. I feel cheated. Lol JK I cannot even imagine the stress of getting everyone moved out of those favorite lakeside campsites. I absolutely fell in love with Floating Mill last summer. I was raised in Smithville, so Center Hill was just always a skip away. I love that I can call it home :D I will say, if you are tent camping, I do not think there is a better campground than Floating Mill. The back tent sites are amazing! And mixed in the back tent sites are about 3 or 4 small RV sites I would highly recommend. With 79 and 80 being my very favorites there. Glad y'all enjoyed it, even with all of the flooding :D
I bet you had a great time hosting here. It really is a cool park. We were amazed at how much the water went down during the time we were there. The campsites near the water just came back. Are you still camp hosting? We did work camping for 1 month last fall and really enjoyed it. Maybe one day we will get to do it again. Safe travels. 😊
I am a year behind you, Danny. Right now, i have a lifetime veterans pass that gets in all the parks for free. We just do not get the discount. Great park, coe does a good job with their campgrounds

Glad you made it. I love my pass. I have the handicap version. Some side notes. National Forest sites are discounted but not at 50%. The find print says *up to 50%. You need to check out Gunter Hill and Montgomery

Did you have any issues getting out of the park?
We did not. We also didn't hook up our tow until we were almost at the interstate.
Another great site. Looked a bit crowded together but I love the price. Something like that would cost £60 or more here.
Oh wow. Most of the park was closed when we got there. It was a bit crowded. They had everyone together in one area. Safe travels. 😊
